超级盗贼集团The Works的老大托马斯?道森（尼克?泰特 Nick Tate 饰）即将归隐，在选拔继承人的晚宴上，突然一伙不明身份的暴徒闯了进来大开杀戒。托马斯被一向与鲁邦（小栗旬 饰）势同水火的迈克?李（言承旭 饰）劫持，之后更被其同伙杀害。一年后，鲁邦三世遭到峰不二子（黑木明纱 饰）的暗算被钱形警部（浅野忠信 饰）抓获。钱形向其透露了迈克的下落，以及迈克手中的光之项链和黑社会帝王普拉穆克（Nirut Sirichanya 饰）手中的深红宝石的交易信息。巧妙逃脱的鲁邦集结了不二子、次元大介（玉山铁二 饰）、石川五卫门（绫野刚 饰）、皮埃尔（金俊 饰）等人，准备将埃及艳后的绯红之心双双盗取。
