卢卡斯跟妻子萨拉感情很好，突然有一天萨拉消失了，在午夜前的短短15分钟连同自己的行李都消失了。卢卡斯醒来之后发现妻子不见了，他开始出现幻觉：卢卡斯被困在一个似乎毫无止境的平行世界怪圈之中，在一个世界里有他的妻子萨拉，在另一个世界里他还和另一个女人娜拉有关系。他的世界开始崩塌，越变越糟，还被一群“知情者”追杀，这一切仅仅围绕着他，他开始明白这些事情的关键就在于11点45分，午夜前的十五分钟。卢卡斯开始穿梭在不同的时空中，每个时空的时间都不同。他见到了过去的自己和未来的自己。他自己开始变得慌乱，他也不知道哪一个自己才是最真实的。他担心自己回不到现实中，他另一边还在担心自己失踪的妻子。一番挣扎后，卢卡斯最终克服了时空的界限，解救了自己的妻子。
