乔伊（西尔维斯特·史泰龙 Sylvester Stallone 饰）是一名办事雷厉风行，做事不拘小节的洛城刑警，生活中他唯一搞不定的，就是他的母亲图提（爱丝特·盖蒂 Estelle Getty 饰）。图提自幼非常宠爱儿子，即便他已经出落成为了顶天立地的男儿，在图提的眼中，乔伊依然是一个需要她照顾的小宝宝。
