这部电影呈现了一对情侣杰克（陈立谦 饰）和莎利法（Qasrina Karim 饰）的动人爱情故事。他们的家庭都有着丰富的美食传统，双方的父亲都是厨师。莎利法是一名马来人，同时也是电视台节目制作人。她的父亲拉希姆是一位备受赞誉的马来名厨，与女儿合作默契十足。而杰克是一名华人大厨，他的父亲“龙哥”则是一家传统茶楼的老板兼大厨，经营着祖传三代的饭店。他希望培养杰克成为茶楼的继承人。
然而，杰克和莎利法的爱情却遭受到双方父亲的不理解和强烈反对，因为他们来自不同的族裔背景。两位厨师父亲彼此看不顺眼，决定在电视台的美食擂台大赛中通过美食节目的主持和异族恋作为赌注来决定胜负。这场比赛成为了两个家庭之间的角力和冲突的集中体现。
